Gurumayi Chidvilasananda

A Siddha Guru is a spiritual teacher who has fulfilled the highest potential of a human being. They have become established in their essential divine nature. Every action, word, or gesture he or she makes is imbued with the vibrant power of this state. The sole purpose of such a realised master is to lead seekers to that same attainment.

For a seeker the journey begins when the Siddha Guru awakens the inner spiritual energy, kundalini, through shaktipat.

Gurumayi Chidvilasananda is a Siddha Guru. From an early age, under the guidance of her Guru Swami Muktananda, Gurumayi devoted herself to the teachings and practices of the Siddha Yoga path. In 1982, just months before he passed, Swami Muktananda imparted to her the full power and authority of the Siddha Yoga lineage.

Through her writings and through Siddha Yoga teaching and learning events and study tools, Gurumayi constantly guides students as they walk this path. In particular, she expresses a great love and reverence for children as the holders of our future and has written books and songs expressly for them.
