Bhagavan Nityananda, one of the most revered Siddha Gurus of the modern era, was a janma siddha— a perfected yogi who is born with the full realisation of his own divine nature.

Bhagavan Nityananda was Swami Muktananda's guru. He is often referred to as Bade Baba which is a Hindi term meaning 'elder Baba.'

Bade Baba was venerated throughout his life as a perfected yogi. Wherever he went crowds would gather to be in his presence. He undertook many building projects, especially to support the poor, and he particularly loved and was loved by children. He directed people to find the source of happiness by turning within and meditating.
