When Swami Muktananda began to travel the world, bringing the Siddha Yoga teachings from India, he found the people in the West thirsty for the wisdom of the sages. As he traveled from place to place, people often asked, "How can I help with this work?" And so Baba often invited them to open chanting and meditation groups or meditation centres so that other people could learn about Siddha Yoga meditation.
In order to administer this growing Siddha Yoga mission in Australia, during his 1978 visit to Australia, Baba inspired the creation of the Siddha Yoga Foundation Limited.
The goal of all the Foundation's efforts is to make the Siddha Yoga teachings easily available to seekers in Australia and neighbouring countries. The beneficial impact of this work is apparent in the number and types of projects it supports.
The Foundation works closely with the SYDA Foundation, which conducts courses, Intensives and retreats, so that the Siddha Yoga teachings are available in many locations around Australia. The Siddha Yoga Foundation Limited also oversees the administration of all centres and the Siddha Yoga Ashrams in Melbourne and Sydney in Australia.
The Siddha Yoga Foundation Limited is a non-profit organisation, based in Melbourne. The Foundation has a Board of Trustees made up of long-time Siddha Yoga practitioners who continue to support the vision and mission of the SYDA Foundation.
Siddha Yoga Foundation Limited owns, operates and maintains this website.
